In the same breath, an organization or country is like a book. If dissatisfied employees or citizens do not understand why management or the political class acts the way they do, the people may be more of birds of passage or insider enemies instead of enterprise or country champions.
It is for the above reason I often say, ‘do not be too busy to engage in candid dialogue.’
People may not like you, but please, show them you care. Dialogue may be expensive but surely cheaper than rebellions or war.
