Is our overstretched security system ready for the worst alternatives?

From now till the  2023 election is over, I beg all friends and family members not to embark on early and late evening travels. Why this?

Three things will return many criminals to the streets and highways as we enter November, and approach 2023.

1. The clamping down on cyber crimes, especially the yahoo related crimes will push hundreds into the unemployment market. Many of them know they are loosing out and angry. With no jobs and employment opportunities, they would have no place except in alternative criminal pathways like armed robbery. Unfortunately, these guys that would make life difficult for the rest of us are in the minority.

2. The deployment of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) in next year’s election, which would eliminate political thugs involved in ballot snatching, destroying and falsification of election results and burning of peoples’ ballot papers on behalf of their principals, etc. These guys that were trained and armed, will turn their guns against innocent citizens.

3. The change of the new Naira notes that will likely deplete wardrobe and sewage cash flow systems, which would make it harder to have the previous volume of cash available for votes’ buying.

There is no doubt that as the country wants to look better in some ways, our security should kindly begin to put in place strategies that would checkmate these guys that could create alternative criminal pathways.

Just wondering if our overstretched security system is ready for the worst alternatives staring at us in the face.

Grace and peace!!!
