You are uniquely created. Stop wanting to be like the other person. That wealthy person you envy or want to be like, may not have your type of excellent health status.
Some of the people you want to be like pay to lose weight, which you get by trekking. Even at that, you are healthier than so many affluent people.
Some of those you envy swallow a dozen pills every blessed day, without which their gaits will be unsteady. Some of them are on dialysis, which costs millions of Naira weekly and going about with urinary bags under their garments that collect their urine. In contrast, your kidneys are intact and have no retention or urinary challenges. Yet you are praying to be like that person.
Let us understand that we are all poor in various ways. Let us learn to count our blessings. Some people we envy cannot have their baths without support, but we have control over our faculties, and all our organs function perfectly. Some of those we envy may look elegant when they come out in social functions, but the amount of money they spend on personal aides that attend to their health is more than our lifetime earnings.
Some of the people we pray to be like have murdered sleep. Many of the elegant guys we envy and want to be like cannot step out of their houses without hordes of security escorts, and they can sleep no more unless they take sedatives and pills. In contrast, we sleep with our two eyes closed, snoring to the wonderland every time we hit our mats or beds, yet we want to be like the person with materialism-induced insomnia.
My friends, let us learn to appreciate who we are and that the rich can be poorer than we ever think. As you read this post, some people we envy and pray to be like are praying to God to restore their health and take all the material things they have because they want to live.
Let us be careful about what we pray, hope and wish for from God. The time we use in wishing to be like the other person, let us use it to ask for the wisdom of God to open our inner eyes to know what and who He destined us to be. When he does, let us work hard in our areas of passion and use the weekend as a springboard to surge forward and upward.
Remember that you are a unique creature. You are created to succeed and be great. But the oscillation and fleeting mindsets between who you are and wanting to be like others may be the barrier between you and success. Change that mindset from this weekend.
I wish you a happy weekend as you thank God for keeping you beyond this weekend. Grace and peace!!!
