Bronze could be more precious than gold already lost and irredeemable in some tournaments. The ongoing match between Cameroon and Burkina Faso is one of such. That is why the Cameroonian Coach would not have tweaked his team massively the way he did. A third-place match does not make it less critical for a host country.
I can understand why the Cameroonian Coach benched most of his first eleven to give the untested opportunities to prove their mettle in the third-place match against Burkina Faso. It has been a gamble gone awry, and Cameroonians may not forgive him and the entire team if they lost this third place Match.
Half-time changes seem to be working for the Cameroonians with some benched first eleven players. The Cameroonian side is pilling pressures on the Burkinabes. The pressures have yielded two goals in fifteen minutes.
The Burkinabes should blame themselves for giving away three goals lead. After three goals, the Burkinabes had no reason to continue the mad rush for another goal. The team would have been fortified with a defensive midfielder to completely cut off the forays of the Cameroonians and another defender to play in the front of the 5 and 6.
Technical errors on both sides has been costly but Cameroon seems to have mended its fences and could redeem its image in the penalty shoot. I hope those to take the penalties would do better than they did against the Egyptians. May the better side take home the bronze.
Grace and peace!!!
