My heart aches for the carnage in Ukraine.

There is a way you beat your own child and people would scream, ‘wetin sef? Wetin e do wey you wan killam? Abeg e do! That is the situation Putin has found himself.

Putin has gone from protecting separatists to massive bombing of Kiyv and in the process, destroyed schools, hospitals, and other infrastructures.

This war has killed children, the aged, and made so many women widows. As of today, Putin must be angry with himself because his permutations fell flat like a pack of cards. Putin underrated the resilience of Ukrainians. He thought he could Put-out Zalensky in 24 hours, exile and replace him with a crony. I am sure Russia has lost more armored tanks in this war than all the wars it has ever fought. He reported to air strikes and logistics because Ukraine seems more dangerous with ground attacks.

The West and Europe are also angry with Putin because he deliberately targeted their interests in the name of destroying biomedical laboratories belonging to the US and France. That could have a pay day with severe economic consequences.

For Zalensky, he underrated Putin’s ability to do the unexpected. If he knew him well, there would have been no need for this war that has sent millions of his people on exile, many dead and others that may never return to their homeland because they lost all they had. He would have avoided this and opted for negotiation. Though the West offered Zalensky an escape route, he refused to leave Ukraine and would rather die with his people. Amidst all the bombings, Zalensky is still standing. Good courage. With every passing day, he is getting more entrenched.

At this time, the only way to end this war is for good faith negotiation to commence between Putin and Zalensky. Putin should prove the world wrong by swallowing his pride and come to table with Zalensky. Any further escalation of this war would kill more innocent ukranians and Russian soldiers, which may lead to serious war crime against humanity.

My heart aches for the carnage in Ukraine.

I hope sense would soon prevail.

Grace and peace!!!
