Richard Branson is putting in place spacecraft for commercial suborbital travels. How did they get there, and we are here at the bottom with our universities closed for months, and all of us ‘just de waka pass?’
As if not bad enough, all that has rented the air for almost a month in my country is the choice of deputies, quarreling, and profiling each other over mundane things that cannot take us beyond Nigeria.
I think, one of our greatest undoing in the black world is misguided theology and theologians that make us believe that all we need to work towards is an earthly or a heavenly paradise.
It could also be that we are being thought the science of innovation and entrepreneurship in our various worship centers but we are just not listening and assimilating what is taught.
I see religion beyond just going to heaven. Our religions are potent tools that can change the world, but I think we are yet to grab religion’s very essence and power. Elijah prayed for rain not to fall, and the rain ceased for three and a half years. He again prayed, and God sent fire from heaven to consume the bull and the woods to prove He was God. Behold, the skies opened their belly for the rain to come down. Joshua commanded the sun and the moon to stand still, and they obeyed. The rod of Moses was more effective than any scientific instrument of mass destruction.
So, what has changed in us as children of God?
