Dateline March 2022: The President gave us a clear directive to remove the Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni as the chairman of the caretaker committee of the APC. – Nasir El-Rufai, the Governor of Kaduna State.
Two weeks after the King’s messenger delivered the message and Buni removed, Buni’s position was restored, courtesy of another directive by the Leader of the APC, President Muhammad Buhari. Buni proceeded to organize the Convention that produced the Distinguished Senator Abdullahi Adamu as the substantive APC Chairman
June 2022: The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu, announced to the National Working Committee that the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, is the party’s consensus candidate.
Hours later, the party leader, President Muhammad Buhari, disowned Adamu saying, “I have not anointed any candidate.”
In the scenarios above, either the President tested the waters to see party faithfuls’ reaction or those that name-called him hid under the veil of the big masquerade to carry out personal plans against their party.
Whichever way it turns, the messengers in the two instances, that is, Adamu and Buni, have a block loyal to them, and so is PMB as the numero uno. Head or tail, the lines of division cannot be overlooked, but one thing is sure, PMB remains a constant variable.
Tonight is the night. From 6 pm, the breeze shall blow, and the fowl’s backside will be exposed.
If those Adamu wanted to scheme out emerge winners, will he survive the post-election storm after the stormy pre-convention rascality? In whose favor shall the double speaking and policy somersaults tilt? I Sidon de look!
Grace and peace!!!
