Terrorism is a virus that not only spreads but mutates. Unlike the actual virus, terrorism destroys everything in sight. One can adopt hygienic habits to deal with viruses. But terrorism does not obey hygiene laws and, therefore, becomes more challenging to eliminate. Ask Russia, America, and UK about their experiences in Afghanistan. Nobody with a good head on a good neck would support terrorism.
America warned its citizens and Nigerians to beware of a terrorist attack that was imminent in Abuja. Good enough, the military interagency has worked hard to abate it. The UK recently warned its citizens and America to beware of terror attacks. I am sure the American Government will also work hard to prevent it. The two Governments should have asked, how did the world get here? If they are sincere, they will find the answers during introspection and soul-searching endeavors using the balcony perspective.
The conspiracies of divide-and-rule by the big, advanced, and developed economies led the world to where it is presently. The frosty wars to outdo each other, to conquer people for subjection to their whims, to police and control other governments to steal their wealth are partly responsible for this bus stop we are at. It is a known fact that the secret services of advanced nations trained most terrorist leaders. Now, these guys have grown into uncontrollable groups.
Besides, when one nation and its allies topple legitimate regimes to railroad those nations into their brands of governance without paying attention to their values and cultures, we cannot get less of an outcome. The assassinations of African and other leaders who detest their policies contributed to the state of the restive seasons of terror in the world. For example, terror cells fleeing Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, etc., found fertile lands in Africa. Until the advanced nations begin to dismantle the blocks of injustices and interference in the affairs of other nations around the world, nothing will change.
