I empathize with the parents of the 10-year-old Chrisland student, who the mother claimed was a virgin but partook in an adult game, far away in Dubai. I pray for quick healing of the mind and soul because it is not only traumatic but heart rendering to be labeled a failed parent.
The girl might not know the full implications of what she did until the internet begins to reveal her past in the future. In some climes, she would need a therapy to prepare her for that time and to also prevent psychological breakdown.
However, when a ten year old girl, who should by law be under the guardance and guidance of her parents wear waist and leg bids, uses an iPhone 13 pro max, streaming online 24/7 with close to ten thousand followers, attends wild parties, does not eat local but exotic dishes, etc.,
When we spoiled our children, took the powers to discipline them from teachers in the name of child and right’s abuse, and civilization, which teacher do you think could redirect the mindset of that girl to any constructive endeavor?
In those days, our parents dare not see their girl child leave the house in skimpy dresses. Besides, woe betide that child, who would bring what the parents did not buy for them into their homes.
In our time, the upbringing of a child is the business of everybody in the neighborhood. Today, one dare not run one’s mouth to admonish other people’s children in the neighborhood no matter what they are doing. Doing otherwise may lead one into police cell.
What happened to the Chrisland students in far away Dubai is a tip of the iceberg. The truth is, we have many Chrislands everywhere we turn. But it is the dog that has a mouth-stained poop that would be so labeled a dog eating poop.
The Dubai exposure was not accidental. It only revealed the existence of modern day Sodom and Gomorrah in our society. What God saw to provoke His destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah thousands of years ago, remain saintly in comparison to what is going on now. Check out the ritual killings masterminded by teens, cartelizations, cultism, drug addiction, yahooism, etc.
In March 2017, there was a chilling sad story in Lagos of how boys were grabbing girls, ripping their dresses and forcefully attempting to rape them on the street in broad day light. Meanwhile people would be gathered to cheer the boys on. That story alluded to it, as a yearly ritual to celebrate the passing out of the final year students.
The other day, I saw a video of a 20-year-old boy celebrating his girl friend’s birthday with a a gift of Mercedes Benz GLK 350. Those children were still supposed to be students. The amount of money sprayed by co-20-year-olds would run into millions of Naira. No be mama and papa born those children? After the viral video, what did the parents do?
Time to accept that we, the parents, have failed our children and need to begin a rebuilding process now. Unless and until parents stop denying the obvious and begin a rebirth in disciplining of their children, I wonder what would happen to the next generation.
Parents arise!
Grace and peace!!!
