It is a month I pray shall work for all that read this post. We shall not mourn over any of us by His grace and we shall be alive to do the same next month. As we journey through August, let me leave you with some posers.
Human beings are like a javelin that goes up and descend to hit the ground. We all grow to a peak in age and our earthly endeavors. Like the javelin, we gradually descend to our final ours.
The javelin leaves a mark for measurement to show the prowess of the thrower. When the javelin thrower makes an extraordinary throw in the distance, the spectators usually erupt with applause and a standing ovation. Likewise, in our final moments, we all hit the ground with all we have acquired in life. While still in the morgue, people begin to measure the marks and imprints we left in the hearts of earthly beings as we throttled through life’s journey, pursuing what pleased us. Some would mourn hours on end for missing us, while others would care less depending on what we left on our tracks.
There are no small lies or sins. When you see black and call it white, when you do not have issues with your eyesight, wait for the Lord. Do not be like some that lived, died, and left the spiritual fathers fighting hard to find kind words to qualify who they were when they lived.
When we are still alive, there are questions we must continuously ask ourselves without doing things to please others. Will our maker give us a standing ovation when we appear before him for ending our earthly journey well? Will people glorify God’s name for what he used us to accomplish in the life of others while on earth? What kind of memoir would we leave behind that would make those surrounding our remains be like the spectators standing to applaud the javelin thrower who won gold?
Until we all answer the above questions with positive feedback, the world will always remain in turmoil. But we can begin to change our ways if not too sure of where we belong. We can start to wipe clean the negatives from our little corners today.
As you read this post, I am contemplating it because I am also not perfect. May God give us the strength of the elephant to overcome our imperfections. May the Lord grant us the lightness of the eagle to fly higher to see things with the bird’s eye view and begin to change for the better. Grace and peace!!!
