When shall these end?

I watched the USA and the unfolding events, snowstorms, power outages, flight cancellations, hostage-taking, etc. In the midst of these, the government, its agencies, and private enterprises are on their toes proffering solutions.

One key area of strength is efficiently deploying human and material resources to address issues promptly—no blame games, no playing to the gallery because of securing votes in the next election.

Watching the Texas synagogue hostage incidence on CNN, for instance, in less than twenty-four hours, the President, politicians, and the citizens (Muslims, Christians, atheists) condemned the act and called it an act of terror.

The law enforcement agents rose timeously to the occasion. In less than 24 hours, they traced the networks and arrested two teenagers in the UK.

In contrast, when all manners of militancy, insurgency, banditry, security brutalities, the killing of security agents, abduction of children from schools happen here, etc., we all find excuses, reasons, and rationales for the events should be what they are.

As we find justifications for the evil deeds, the perpetrators widen their horizons and use that same support system for amassing armament. Before we could read the handwriting on the wall, the entire nation was on fire.

So, timeliness, sincerity of purpose, and standing together to speak to truth and condemn evil wherever it surfaces remain key to resolving our national challenges. Unfortunately, religion, tribalism, and nepotistic flavors have spiced and dulled our reasonings toward natural justice. Besides, we refuse to use the essence of using early warning signs to prevent future catastrophes.

The aftermath of this unfortunate situation is that we are like a bird that uses the line to perch, and naturally, both the bird and the line can never find peace or rest. So it is with us. In many geo-political zones, the citizens cannot sleep with their two eyes closed Until leaders and citizens stand together with patriotic zest, the facts will be far from them, and falsity and deceptions will fill the void.

When shall these end?

Grace and peace!!!
