Electricity Tariffs: Is Another Hike on the Horizon for Nigerians

Nigeria’s Electricity Cheaper Than Neighbouring African Countries – TCN Boss.

Each time you read or hear regulators say, “Fuel is cheaper in Nigeria than other countries or electricity is cheaper here than in other West African countries,” just begin to brace up for another round of increase. If not now, expect it before December or early 2025.

Recently, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) raised daily electricity tariff for consumers in Band from N66 to N225 per kilowatt-hour. In contrast, it raised consumption tariffs for others in April 2023 April 3, 2024 (Copilot information).

Despite the increases, I do not think Nigerians have had the best of transmission of electricity to its citizens. Where we de go?

Grace and peace!!!
