Roads: The Lifelines of Economic Prosperity and Social Connectivity
Roads are necessary to cultivate a buoyant economy. Good road networks encourage trades and investments. Roads also help break the barriers of isolation.
Besides, interconnected roads help interelatedness of people accross cultures. It also helps farmers bring food to the people, and distribute raw materials to cities where they are needed for secondary productive activities.
Besides, good access road is one of the deliverables that depicts basic essence of good governance. That is why I am still dazed as to the reasons behind allowing the Benin-Auchi, Benin-ologbo-Sapele, Benin bypass, Uromi-Agbor-Eku-Sapele, and Asaba-Illah-Auchi federal highways to remain in such deplorable conditions for years. Edo and Delta states are gradually being isolated from the rest of Nigeria.
But where would the redemptive forces to reopen Edo and Delta State roads to the other parts of Nigeria come from?
Grace and peace!!!
