Supporting African Airlines: A Call for Accountability and the Need for a Nigerian National Carrier
We, as Africans, must support our own industries, including African-made goods and African Airlines. However, seeing Nigerians being mistreated by some of these carriers is disheartening.
How can we endorse airlines that allow their authorities to unjustly target Nigerians? The recent distressing incident involving Reverend Israel Kristilere is a stark reminder. Such incidents should not deter us from supporting our own. Still, the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Aviation have a significant role in safeguarding Nigerian citizens’ rights and safety. They must take swift action to address these issues and hold these airlines accountable for their actions.
It is understandable to question these airlines’ actions. However, we could avoid many of these humiliating situations if we had our own national carrier. A national carrier would provide a sense of security and reduce the risk of mistreatment that Nigerians often face when traveling with foreign airlines. Grace and peace to you!!!
