The Origins of Valentine’s Day: Embracing Love, Goodwill, and Kindness
Not many know that the killing of someone preaching the “word” on February 14, 269 (walksofitaly.com) began what we celebrate today as Valentine’s day. In his lifetime, Saint Valentine, whose name the world adapted for today’s celebration, wore a ring with a symbol of love. He gave his all for what he believed. He lived and died for agape love.
So, giving and wishing others well are the foundations of love, which people celebrate today as Valentine’s day.
As you celebrate the say, the name and love, the question is, how much of love and goodwill for others do you wear as a ring wherever you go? How much kindness and empathy do you convey in your discussions and speaking to and with others?
As you celebrate Velentine’s Day today, let your heart be full of everything good so that whatever comes out of you from now on would be everything good. If mankind embraces this philosophy, there shall be no evil in the land because out hearts are full of goodness and love for others.
Happy Valentine’s Day. Grace and peace!!!
