Transformative Leadership in Livestock: Why Idi Mukhtar Maiha’s Appointment Brings Hope for Nigeria’s Future
Those who know my antecedents know I wouldn’t say I like boot lickers. I also love to speak the truth irrespective of whose ox is gored, albeit diplomatically and situationally, without making others lose face. The latest PBAT ministerial nominees tend to have gotten one area so right, which is the appointment the Minister of Livestock Development in the person of Mr. Idi Mukhtar Maiha..
If allowed a free hand to run his ministry, the issues of herders/farmers and open grazing of cattle will be a thing of the past. He is a leader who will undoubtedly bring about a positive transformation in the sector. His deep understanding of the open grazing and Livestock conflicts and his innovative solutions will pave the way for a harmonious coexistence. I stand firmly in support of him.
His qualifications are not just on paper but backed by practical experience. His extensive experience in the agricultural sector and his ownership of more than 250 cattle of different breeds in his Zaidi Farms Ltd in Kaduna (Blueprint.ng) is a testament to his practical knowledge and unwavering commitment to the sector, making him well-equipped for the role. This should reassure Nigerians of his capabilities and dedication.
Idi Mukhtar Maiha is not just a livestock farmer but also a well-remunerated pensioner and a successful livestock investor. His unwavering integrity and ethical standards are beyond reproach, making him a leader who will not need to resort to corruption to survive. This should instill confidence in his leadership and the future of the livestock sector, making him the perfect fit for the role.
As I look ahead to the end of his tenure possibly in 2027, I am optimistic about the positive changes he will bring to the sector. I am confident that his leadership will usher in a new era of growth and development in the livestock sector. I am sure that my faith in him will be justified when his achievements are reeled out when he is out of office. I wish him the best of luck. Grace and peace!!!
