Gabon’s Dynasty: A Closer Look at Governance and the Role of ECOWAS

Gabon is not a monarchy. Yet one family called the “Bongos” passed the administration of that oil rich nation from father to son for fifty-five years. In other words, no other intelligent person can rule Gabon outside the Bongos family.

Did ECOWAS advise the Bongo’s family to allow the Gabonese people freely elect their leaders in a free and credible electoral system?

It is unfortunate that Nigeria is at the helm of affairs in ECOWAS when this malady called “coup” is resurfacing in Africa. Sad!
