Addressing the Root Causes: Bad Leadership and Economic Mismanagement in National Development

Nobody needs an expert in political economy or other related financial theoretical frameworks to know that bad leadership, crass irresponsibility, and misgovernance always lead nations to rely on imports for energy requirements and other basic needs, which should have been ordinarily produced in-country.

It is profligacy and plundering of national assets that would make a nation go borrowing or print more currencies to pay salaries. A nation with no population control strategies would wallow in the deep ocean of population explosion and poverty unless it creates jobs that would engage the people. China with its population has found a way of leveraging its internal strength in innovation and manufacturing to become the sole supplier to the entire world.

Unbeknown to the government, providing an enabling environment for decent and all-day/night jobs helps population control. When people who should be working in factories are jobless and home all day, and driven into one-room apartments from 7 pm because of insecurity, what do you expect?
