Integrity on Trial: Addressing Corruption, Fuel Subsidy Scams, and the Crisis of Trust in BAT’s Government

Integrity matters in everything we do, and nobody should keep quiet if they are accused of issues that bother their integrity or impugn their character.

I have yet to see strong denials of the grave allegations of escalating government corruption, nepotism, poverty, inflation, and double-digit interest rates, which have become integrity issues for BAT’s government. These include the Malta petroleum importation saga and the fuel subsidy removal scam, in which the government says there is no more fuel subsidy but is indeed paying more than what it met in 2023.

The subsequent remedies, such as a thorough investigation and prosecution of those involved, are crucial for restoring public trust. The fuel subsidy removal scam and policy sabotage have put more strain on Nigerians and cast a shadow on the integrity of BAT’s government. The longer the silence persists, the more complicated these issues become. The government must address the issues of subsidy, fuel scarcity, fuel queues, and the Malta saga NOW!.
