Shining the Light on State Governance: The Need for Accountability Beyond Federal Walls
We have seen the federal Government expose the misconduct of its ministers or agents. The media is inundated with petitions from the citizens against the Federal Government on corruption, which is OK to press home the need for transparency and accountability principles in governance,
Is it that the states are so pure that appointees of the Governors, for example, commissioners, accountant generals, auditor generals, etc, are so pure that they come and go every four years without any financial misconduct that could be exposed and sanctioned?
Until we begin to torchlight and seek the Governors’ accountability to the people, I doubt if Nigerians can truly have positive dividends of democracy.
Grace and peace!!!
