The Root of Global Unrest: Exploring the Impact of Human Insatiability on Societal Harmony

When economists posited that “Human needs and wants are insatiable,” nobody would have expected that a collective insatiability could put the world asunder. For me, this insatiability is simply a lack of contentment in all stages of the human struggles for power, which is the coin people deploy to become wealthy and famous.

The lack of contentment is why only one child wants to claim a parent’s inheritance to leave other siblings with nothing. It is the reason children of the same parents plot to eliminate each other or remain in litigation until they die.

If contented, the developed nations, with all their advancements and technological edge, would not strive to continuously strip the weaker and underdeveloped countries of their mineral resources with appropriate pricing. It is the reason why assassinations of past African leaders have been high at the behest of the West.

Lack of contentment is the reason the rich are stealing from the poor, orphans, widows, and widowers, and it is the reason the world is at war in many geopolitical regions. It is why we have so much intra-country political division, which is becoming unmanageable. It is the reason families are in a perpetual divided mode. That is why the rich would sponsor terror to dispossess aborigines of their lands to occupy and steal the mineral resources. It is the reason people engage in sharp practices and shortcuts to make money.

If not, tell me why the world is so disunited under a United Nations Charter. But would the status quo ever change?

Grace and peace!!!
