Without any doubt, one can say that a twenty-four-hour economy leads to buoyant and robust socio-economic systems. In the 70s, 80s, and early 90s, every city in Nigeria had a bubbling spot that didn’t sleep. Buying and selling were all day round. Iyaro in Benin, Ojuelegba in Lagos, Upper Iweka in Onitsha, and the whole stretch of Warri-Sapele Road never slept.

Besides, we did not have prison-like walls around buildings or gates erected on every street corner as we have today because insecurity was not an issue. How does time change, and can we ever go back to those golden days?
