Amidst Discordant Governance: Where is Nigeria Headed?
“Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?” Amos 3:3 – Holy Scriptures
Never in the history of this country have we had staccato renditions of uncordinated governance like we have seen from the citadel of powers these last few days.
The scriptures speak of “end time” but I do not know what politics calls it. Please help me if you know the answer to my question, “Whia” we de go?
Scene one: The old Naira notes remain legal tender, therefore, the N1,000, N500 and N200 old currency notes shall be in circulation alongside the new notes – Supreme Court, the highest Court of the land.
Scene two: We have destroyed and burnt the N1,000 and N500 old currency notes, and therefore, they are no longer legal tender and not available for re-circulation – Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the Apex Bank in Nigeria.
Scene three: The CBN shall continue to circulate the N200 old currency notes alongside the new notes- President Muhammad Buhari, the President and the highest political office holder in Nigeria.
Scene Four: All old Naira notes shall continue to be used and shall remain legal tender in Kaduna State – Governor el-Rufai, An APC Governor, leading others to challenge the Federal Government’s Naira redesignation policy at the Supreme Court.
So, now that all that should walk together for the socio-economic good of Nigeria are making different pronouncements on the same subject, what next for Nigeria? How can the Pilot and Co-pilot of an aircraft disagree on a journey schedule and hope to land safely? Just wondering.
Grace and peace!!!
