Embracing Individual Journeys: Finding Happiness in Life’s Unique Paths

Happiness does not come cheaply. We work for it. In all our travails, let us not be quick to compare ourselves with others because we are differently wired for different assignments in our earthly journey.

Life has taught me that though people might belong to the same lineage, their struggles, blessings, and endowments are different.

Take the biblical stories of King Solomon and his father, David, as a case study. David survived so many assassination plots and fought his way through life from early childhood.

In contrast, his son, King Solomon, was so blessed that his enemies were at peace with him. 1 Kings 4: 24 (KJV) attests to this: “For he had dominion over all the region on this side of the river, from Tiphsah even to Azzah, over all the kings on this side of the river: and he had peace on all sides round about him.

When we compare our stories to those of David and Solomon, we will begin to change our mindsets about feeling low because of what life throws at us. No wonder Solomon recommended enjoying life; there is nothing better for a person under the sun than to eat, drink, and be glad.

As we celebrate Jesus’ life and times this week, let not the travails of life rob us of the benefits of remaining under the canopy of the Lord. Let us believe that our blessings shall resurrect to give us succor in due season. Remember that as we think, so shall we get.

Grace and peace!!!
