Justice for All: From N3m Frauds to Billion-Billion Scandals – A Call for Accountability

The EFCC in its post said a Gombe Court has jailed a lady three years for a N3m Fraud.

While that is laudable, can we also see justice done in a commensurate manner to the bilion-billion fraud cases? The prosecutors and the courts have roles to play in this. May be Nigerians would need to occupy some spaces for the garvel to come down harder.

The proceeds of crime cannot and should not be bargained. Therefore, Nigerians do not want to see plea bargaining wrongly applied in the ongoing monumental fraud cases.

For us as a people, we must learn to speak out because we are the victims. As long as we, the people by our own volition, take everything thrown at us without having the courage to say no to “pocketocracy” (a political system governed by the rule of the pockets) and misgovernance, nothing will change.

Is it not embarrassing to see billions and trillions vanishing from vaults only for a fraction to be recovered and we move on as if nothing has happened?

Grace and peace!!!
